Born on April 14th, 1965, to Thomas L. and Jane Rieger Bounds, Brian was a fifth-generation farmer, a role he embraced with pride and responsibility. Growing up immersed in the traditions of farming, he developed a lifelong passion for agriculture and stewardship of the land. His academic journey culminated with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics from the University of Illinois, equipping him with both knowledge and a vision for sustainable farming practices.

In 1991, Brian married Rebecca Weber, and their partnership was rooted in shared values and mutual respect. Together, they built a family that cherished love, faith, and community. Rebecca survives him in Fairbury, along with their children—Trent (Kylie) Bounds, Addison (Chloe) Bounds, and Maddie Bounds. His four grandchildren—Trip, Vivienne, Beau, and Callahan—were the joy of his later years, inspiring him daily.

Beyond his farming career, Brian was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, often planning trips to Canada with close friends and his sons, where he found solace and camaraderie in nature. His family fondly remembers him floating by the pool, a Hefeweizen in hand, relaxing and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. These moments of leisure reflected his appreciation for life’s joys and the importance of taking time to enjoy family and friends.

Professionally, Brian’s career began in 1991 as a District Sales Manager for Agrigold Seed. He balanced this role with his responsibilities on the family farm, demonstrating his work ethic and dedication. In 1996, he transitioned to farming full-time with his father, continuing a family legacy that spanned generations and contributing substantially to the local agricultural community.

A private family gathering is scheduled at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, where family and close friends will gather to remember and celebrate Brian’s life. A public Celebration of Life is planned from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, at Emancipation Brewing Company, located at 13113 North 2500 East Road in Fairbury. The family encourages donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society, reflecting Brian’s compassionate spirit and desire to help others.
